I lost my beloved twin sister just over a year ago and each day since has been a struggle. Sue died from a massive bleed in the frontal lobe of her brain just a month after she had surgery on her right parietal lobe to remove a blood clot because of a previous bleed. Two years before her passing she was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease which eventually led to her strokes. Although Sue was in constant pain, she never lost her great since of humor and we both would collapse in fits of uncontrollable laughter over the silliest things. Sue lived just down the street from me which allowed us to see each other almost every day.
Sue was extremely proud of her kids and grandchildren. Her son, Damon Youngblood, is a Lieutenant in the Bakersfield Police Dept., married to Michelle, and has two children, Lexi and Dustin. Her daughter, Rebecca Cross is an insurance broker in Santa Barbara, married with two children, Tyler, and Ava.
I always believed that Sue and I would grow old together, probably as widows living together in our shared home. But I know in my heart that Sue is very happy, free of pain with our Lord. heaven.
There were no 2 ladies at our school sweeter than you and your sister. We should all be grateful for the time we had. We morn with you on the loss of Susan, but can also be grateful that you can still be with us, and shine in that way that is all yours. Hope to see you at the 2022 reunion.
Your sister & you will always hold a special, loving place in my heart. We sure had plenty of crazy-fun, laugh-out-loud shared moments throughout school. I especially loved the sparkle in Susan's beautiful eyes whether she was up to some mischief or just being there for me... always a treasure. I know they say great minds think alike, but so do tender hearts. Looking forward to your hugs at our reunion AND forward to Susan's hugs when she greets me at those pearly gates. Debbie my heart aches for you losing your sister Sue. I remember you girls in school and never being able to tell you apart. Both of you, sweet and nice as could be. Twins are more than just siblings. They have a keen sense of knowing each other that no others have. I know your loss as my twin brother Lloyd passed away 27 years ago from complications of a liver transplant leaving a 12 year old daughter and 3 year old son. Miss him as if it was just yesterday. Blessings to you and may your dear memories of Sue bring comfort.
