Barbara Gillin passed away on June 1, 2009 at age 57 In Canaberra, Australia after a long illness. Barbara was the West High AFS exchange student from Australia who joined our class our senior year. Barbara had an amazing career as a lawyer in Australia. She was involved in some high profile cases which took her to England where she had tea with the Queen of England. We were all blessed for having Barbara in our lives!

She was beyond a ray of sunshine and breath of fresh air. Barbara was a beautiful woman inside and out with such intelligence, humor, compassion and sophisticated maturity. She seemed to always have such a hunger and passion for life. She embraced our country, school, and yes, even us with a smiling curiousity and tolerance.

She will be missed and it will always be our loss.

With love and sincerity,
Neena (Troupe)
