Comments:

Well, left Bakersfield in 1973 and moved to San Diego. Goofed off living at the beach until '78 and finally decided that I needed to have a grown up job so I got into real estate development working for a couple guys doing several projects.

In 1982 I met this wonderfully funny girl, Paula and seven months later we are married. Three years later I am someone's father when Ben is born. Two more years and BAM! Rachel enters the world and is part of the family.

Also during that time I leave the development company and go into construction. I'm a superintendent, an estimator, then a project manager. I have built everything but a high rise. I leave construction in '92 when I'm recruited to work for a national mortgage banking firm to set up branches across the United States. About a year later the company is bought by Chase Manhattan so now I'm a Vice President, Director of Real Estate Facilities for Chase. About 18 months later we merge with Chemical Bank and although I again make the cut, relocating to Louisana is not the offer I was hoping for or on my list of places to live, so I leave the banking business and find my way to a position at San Diego State University Foundation. This non profit organization was charged with redeveloping the properties around San Diego State and I was lucky enough to be selected as the department head Director of Real Estate and Facilities management. I loved working there and loved what I represented, but things and people change, so in 2006 after more than 10 years and numerous completed projects I decided to leave and start my own development/consulting company and I continue to concentrate on properties around San Diego State University.

Paula and I live in Encinitas about 25 miles North of San Diego and just love living in this area.

My best to all of you. Lou

2019 update - Still working and completed my 8th development project at San Diego State University and have three more in the pipeline. My son Ben and I are working well together and finally my wife Paula retired. I miss seeing my daughter but very proud that she doing well as a project manager while renovating two historic hotels in London.

Last year I was diagnosed with an aggressive prostate cancer with surgery and radiation and settling in to the new normal. I'm feeling fine and looking forward to see everyone at the big 50 year reunion.

School Story:

There are many fond memories and fortunate to still have many high school classmates as my friends today. Looking forward to the 50th reunion and hoping to rekindle old friendships to current ones again.

This was a throw back photo of when we were dating. Little did I know that in a few months we would be married. 2019 we celebrated 36 years.

I was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer in 2017. I was operated to remove my prostate and this is a picture of my last day of radiation and was very happy to have that completed.

In May of 2019 my oncologist let me know that my cancer is in remission and another very happy day.

My journey to recovery has taken me to many emotional places but mostly has taken me to a state of gratitude from the love and support of many friends and my family. It's good to be a survivor!

Flew up to Monterey with some friends to play some golf and some of you may spot classmate Bob McBride in the mix.
