John Clayton Fidler

April 22, 1952  ~  February 23, 2016

John was born in Bakersfield, CA, April 22, 1952.  He graduated from West High School in 1970, he then joined the Army.  After the Army he went on to attend Bakersfield College.

John became a Deputy Sheriff in 1975, and was then stationed in Fraizer Park, where he lived for a short time.  He was promoted to homicide Detective and worked until he retired with the K.C.S.O. in 2003.  John was a member of the Kern County Shriners Club, and The Bakersfield Breakfast Lions Club.  He was also the commissioner of the Stone Age Fantasy Football League, in which he truly enjoyed, most of all he loved traveling with his wife Laurie.

John was a loving  Husband, Father and Grandfather.  John is preceded i death by his father Clayton P. Fidler.  He is survived by his mother Peggy M. Montgomery, two sisters Judy Fussel and Jeanne Rodriguez. Wife Laurie Fidler, daughter Shawna Fidler, daughter Jamie and husband Rick Martinez, son Scotty Crabtree and daughter Jessica Crabtree. Seven grandchildren, and numerous family and life long friends, all whom he loved dearly.

Services were held Tuesday, March 1,st at 1:00 pm at Hillcrest Mortuary 9101 Kern Canyon Road Bakersfield, CA. 93306
