Judith Lynn Garone

A celebration of life for Judith Lynn Garone was followed by grave side services at Hillcrest Cemetery on Saturday April 8, at 1:00 p.m. The service was conducted by Reverend Charfle Courneya. Judy was born in Bakersfield, Ca to Joe D. and Virginia Garone.  She attended  local schools, graduating from West HIgh School in 1970.  Judy was active in the school orchestra and jazz band playing string bass and violin at Curren Junior High and West High. The jazz band was always recognize for it's " pretty blond bass player " Judy and her sister Donna shared many hours throughout their lives playing violin and piano duets.  Following high school graduation Judy attended B.C., where she was active the drama department, and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Throughout her lifetime Judy loved music in all forms both a participant and as a listener. From Bluegrass to classical she enjoyed it all. She especially enjoyed working as a volunteer for the "No Stinkin Service Charge" blues shows. She had a lifelong love of animals and is greatly missed by her Boston Terrier Patty.During her marriage to Ken McGurie, Judy spent several years in Saudi Arabia, which enabled her to vacation in many parts of Europe. Upon her divorce she returned to Bakersfield where she enjoyed the love and fellowship of her family and friends.  Judy is survived by her mother, Virginia Garone;brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Ronnie Garone; sister, Donna Calanchini and brother-in-law Randy Brock. Donations in Judy's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the SPCA.

I knew Judy back in high school and was reintroduced in 1976 thru friends.I developed a relationship with her & loved spending time with her. She was a beautiful lady & had a special place in my heart. She loved music & I spent many times playing my guitar for her. I was transferred to Houston later that year & lost touch. I was deeply saddened to hear of her passing. I will miss her wonderful smile...
