Robert  "Bob"  Kapral

Our father passed away on December 10, 2022 after his brave fight against cancer.  Robert "Bob" was born on October 2, 1952 in Bakersfield, California, to parents Stanislaus and Hazel Kapral. Bob attended elementary, junior high, West high school and community college in Bakersfield. He later earned his degree from ICS/University of Scranton where he studied to be a civil engineer.

Dad's career as a civil engineer spanned over 45 years. He began his career in 1970 with Nybo engineering he was a draftsman for projects throughout Kern County and Central California. He worked for many local civil engineering firms over the years: Rickert, Ward and Delmarter Civil Engineering, McIntosh and Associates, and became self employed through his own companies starting in the late 1990's Dad was very proud of his early projects and lasting contribution to the development community through his companies LCI, Suncoast Environmental, RKM Group and CalBuilder.

Bob is survived by his two children; daughter Alyssa and husband Chris Allen, and daughter Kristin and husband Chad Pittack; and "Papa's" three grandkids; Madelyn, Miles, and Hannah who will miss him greatly.

We are left with many family memories. The one most cherished are those of rich Polish tradistions shared on Christmas Eve. Every year Dad would make the Kapusta and Pierogi"s with his siblings, daughters and grandchildren. While some family resides in different locarions, the tradistions continues with honor and love.

Dad worked hard and played harder - he enjoyed skiing, boating, fishing, hiking, and loved spending time in the mountains at Mammoth and Huntington Lake, and especially the family cabin in Shaver Lake. He adored being with his children and grandchildren, with fond memories of family BBQ's, blowing up the neighborhood on 4th of July, and having the scariest house on Halloween. Taking his grandchildren to the movie theater and grandson Miles to hockey practice were some of his treasured times with them. He never lost his sense of humor - sometimes all who have been around Bob knows his ability to find s joke in everything.

Bob's daughter's would like to espically thank his sister Diana and her husband Tom Mestmaker, brother Tim Kapral, and sister Annette Quinn for their many years of love and support given to our Dad. We would also like to thank our mom Coleen Benton, who was married to Dad for almost 30 years, providing us with a wonderful childhood. Also may blessings to Hoffman Hospice of Kern County, CBCC Dr. Rishis Patel and staff, and the very caring med care sraff and personnel at Summit Hills.

Services were held in the Spring of 2023 in Kernville, California, and a celebration of life on the Kern River.
