Can't believe it's been 40 years!!! How time flies when life gets in the way. After graduation, I worked for about a year then enrolled in Bakersfield College. I married in 1973 & had 3 beautiful babies over the course of 10 years. I was divorced in 1983 & went to work at Memorial Hospital, but after a few years in a "dead-end" job made the monumental decision to go back to school. So...for a five year period I worked full-time, raised my 2 wonderful, accomplished daughters, & went to school full-time. I look back & wonder how I did it!? Anyway, I graduated in 1992 with a BA in Child Development & completed the University of LaVerne Teacher Credential Program in 1993. I have worked for Bakersfield City School District since then teaching 6th, 5th, 4th, & 1st grades. I am currently the Reading Teacher (I actually have adopted & like much better my own title of "Literacy Specialist.") at Cesar E. Chavez Science Magnet School. I work with all grade levels & coordinate all extracurricular programs that are related to reading at the school. Well, y'all are caught up to date. I've enjoyed reading about others from our class & maybe I'll see you at the reunion.
I remember having a slumber party the week of graduation. All of us girls (with the permission of our parents I might add!) toilet papered West High & were caught by the Bakersfield City Police. Those pesky Kern City retirees!! We had to go down to the Police Department, but after all the parents were contacted we were allowed to return to the party. All was well!!

Happy birthday, my friend! Hope you have a great day!
It's your birthday!!!! Happy Days, friend! Hope to see you soon.
Hi Steve! So good to hear from you. Congratulations on becoming a grandfather! That's wonderful. Thanks so much for the birthday wishes. I was actually looking forward to the 50th reunion as well. I hadn't been to any of the previous reunions but I have much more time now that I'm retired. The only person I've kept in touch with is Karen (Petrovich). We meet for coffee every month. It's always nice to hear from past classmates. Stay well!
PS...Do you know what happened to Jeff Smock?
